阴阳之气
阴气与阳气，二者属性相悖。世间万物皆由“气”构成，“气”分阴阳，故得名。阴气与阳气依循既定规则互动，“阴阳之气”的交感变化，促使万物生息流转。万物亦可借助“阴阳之气”的传递，感应彼此，互生影响。
The Qi(Vital Force) of Yin and Yang
The qi(vital force) of yin and yang signifies two forms of qi—an element forming all corporeal existence. With opposing characteristics, these two types of qi interact according to specific principles. Such dynamic interplay drives the generation and transformation of all things. Furthermore, the circulation of these qi types enables mutual perception and influence among entities.

《淮南子·泰族训》载：“故天之且风，草木未动而鸟已翔矣；其且雨也，阴曀未集而鱼已噞矣：以阴阳之气相动也。”（天将起风时，草木尚无动静，鸟已高飞；天将降雨时，阴云未至，鱼已浮水面张口：皆因阴阳之气相互驱动所致。）
Therefore, aware of the wind’s approach, birds fly away before grass and trees even begin to sway. Conscious of rain’s coming, fish surface to breathe before dark clouds begin to gather. In each instance, the early actions of birds and fish result from the interplay between the qi of yin and the qi of yang. (Huainanzi)
